For more than 36 years, Tony Torres has brought a designer’s eye, a craftsman’s attention to detail, and a lifelong passion for textiles to the art of interior design.
Tony launched his thriving interior design business in 1993. Throughout his career, one element has remained especially close to his heart: beautifully handmade drapery and the extraordinary possibilities of fabric
His work and expertise have been recognized in publications including Better Homes and Gardens Window & Wall special editions, Metropolitan Home, Colorado Homes & Lifestyles, and The Denver Post.
Tony believes that the art of draping is a fine art—one that has existed throughout the history of interiors. The difference between something ordinary and something exceptional often lies in the details: the proportion of a pleat, the placement of a trim, the scale of a pattern, the construction of a heading, or the unexpected use of a beautiful button.
But The Denver Drapery Workroom is about much more than draperies.
From custom pillows and bedding to upholstered pieces and other soft goods, Tony approaches every project as an opportunity to create something distinctive. He sources exceptional fabrics from around the world and is always searching for the unexpected—the fabric, trim, texture, or detail that can transform an idea into something truly one of a kind.
Sometimes that search takes him to the finest fabric houses in New York, where Tony will happily dig through bins and shelves in pursuit of that one special textile that simply cannot be replaced.
